MasterofAdvancedArchitecture

Course Overview

The new Master of Advanced Architecture, a post professional degree with specialisations in Design Technologies and Urban Design, is an integrated, cross-disciplinary degree specifically directed at understanding and working with the challenges and opportunities provided by information technologies, new concerns for sustainability, new materials and fabrication processes, and a rapidly urbanising world.

Working with industry and an agenda of applied research, this degree puts research into action, and turns experimentation into innovation.

Project-based learning is a core focus of the course with projects adapted from practice situations as vehicles for advancing the professional practice of architecture and urban design. Through such projects you will be involved in the testing of relevant and challenging projects faced by the profession.

You'll also receive an internationalised education through the inclusion of intensive master classes and global field studios that will see key international urban designers, architects and theorists teach into the course each year.

Through other common subjects such as demonstration project, and competition subjects, you will gain a breadth of exposure and responsibility unique in Australian architectural education in both urban design and design technologies.
