MAAinDesignTechnologies
A post-professional degree, the Master of Advanced Architecture in Design Technologies explores the implications of technological developments on the conceptualisation of architectural form and organisation, developing innovative and research-informed design awareness in its graduates.
This course is an evolution of UTS's well recognised Master of Digital Architecture. It shares several subjects with the Master of Architecture course, and UTS architecture graduates may receive credit for subjects completed in their previous studies, subject to the course director's approval.
Become an advanced design innovator
The design focus of the course is underpinned by a strong theoretical foundation, which investigates the history and implications of new technologies for design practice. This will enable you to develop an experienced understanding of the possibilities of emerging technology and design, giving you a competitive edge and a global perspective.
Focused design research in dedicated studios
With full access to a dedicated studio space, the course encourages experimentation in a range of areas, such as computationally-driven design processes, building information modelling, advanced visualisation techniques, building performance simulation, and rapid prototyping.
Learn from leading practitioners
Integral to your success is the exposure to leading architectural innovators. You will take part in master classes and seminars led by innovators in architectural design. Contributors to the MAA Design Technologies include Peter Davidson (LAB), Sulan Kolotan (Kolmac, NY), Chris Bosse (LAVA), Dale Jones-Evans (DJE Architects), Michael Hensel (Ocean North), and Tom Wiscombe (Emergent, LA).
