Welcome

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), School of Design in association with the Powerhouse Museum and IDEA (interior design/interior architecture educators association) will present in form, a one-day symposium as part of Sydney Design 2006.

The aim of in form is to offer a platform for lively and stimulating discussion as speakers explore the understanding and innovation that occurs through the practice of design.

The intention is to investigate emerging models of practice-based, practice-led or practice integrated design enquiry. Questions will be raised about ways in which design may be conceived as a form of divergent discovery and experimental research and in turn how this may contribute to knowledge within the design professions. The intention of the symposium is to raise questions about ways in which designing may be conceived as a form of research.

Saturday, 19th August at the Powerhouse Museum Target Theatre.
9am - 5pm concluding with a panel discussion at 5 pm.

A series of practice-based research projects will be presented and discussed with a panel discussion to conclude the programme.
