Designing out crime research centre
The University of Technology, Sydney and the NSW Attorney General's Department are investing over $1 million annually to help reduce crime through smart, secure design.
In a first for New South Wales, UTS's Designing Out Crime Research Centre will design clever, simple and well-targeted design interventions aimed to discourage opportunistic crime.
The Republic of Design will feature recent work produced by the Centre in the 2009 Designing Out Crime Winter School.
