Recognitionofpriorlearning

If you have already studied subject areas in our degrees, you may receive Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Through RPL, you may receive an exemption for some of the subjects in a course. RPL does not guarantee or imply that you will obtain a place in a DAB course.

When to apply for RPL

Apply for RPL when you first enrol into the course you would like exemptions in. If this is not possible, make your application no later than the end of the second week of you first semester of study at UTS.

Where possible, we will assess RPL for international and postgraduate coursework students before admission and it will form part of the formal offer of place at UTS. Where we cannot fully assess an RPL application, we will tell you the minimum level of RPL which will be accepted, as part of the formal offer of place at UTS.

How to apply for RPL

Apply by submitting an Application Form for Recognition of Prior Learning (pdf, 27kb).

You also need to provide evidence, including certified copies of your academic transcripts, course or subject outlines, or details of your work experience. Lodge your application form at our Faculty Student Office, Level 5, Building 6.
