The School of Design has close industry connections, which ensure that our courses and subjects are contemporary and relevant to today's professional workforce.

All changes to Design courses, both Bachelors and postgraduate degress, are reviewed by advisory committees made up of leading practitioners in the design field. In turn, Design staff regularly consult to industry, and are members of professional and industry committees, often reviewing the content of professional development courses run by professional bodies and other associations.

The School of Design also attracts many industry professionals who teach within our courses as sessional tutors or as adjunct professors, offering joint projects between Design and their workplaces.

Such close industry links have also seen the creation of many prizes, awards and scholarships, as well as the direct placement of students in internships and work placements.
