The School of the Built Environment has close industry connections, which ensures that our courses and subjects are contemporary and relevant to today's professional workforce.

All changes to the School's courses, both Bachelors and postgraduate degrees, are reviewed by advisory committees made up of leading practitioners in the property and building industries. In turn, School staff regularly consult to industry, and are members of professional and industry committees, often reviewing the content of professional development courses run by professional bodies and other associations.

The School also attracts many industry professionals who teach within our courses as sessional tutors or as adjunct professors, offering joint projects between the School and their workplaces.

Such close industry links have also seen the creation of many awards, prizes and scholarships.

Furthermore, the many accreditations available to our graduates is proof of the high status of DAB courses.
