AboutBuilt Environment
Leading research, innovation and education relating to built assets, we engage the broad range of professional activities in the life cycle of the built environment: planning; development; construction; investment appraisal; management of land, buildings and infrastructure; and project management.
The School offers two undergraduate courses - Bachelor of Property Economics and Bachelor of Construction - and three postgraduate courses, Master of Project Management, Master of Property Development (incorporating the Graduate Diploma in Urban Estate Management) and the Master of Planning.
We also offer two research degrees: Doctor of Project Management and Doctor of Facility Development. Through research, we educate professionals who construct, manage and value the places and spaces of sustainable cities.
The School is intricately linked with industry and professional bodies, as our courses are vocationally oriented and require professional accreditation. These links and our staff's activities in industry reinforce our impact on industry and consolidate our reputation.
The School is led by the Head of School, A/Prof Angelo Karantonis, the Associate Head of School (Research and External Relations), Rick Best, and the Associate Head of School (Teaching and Learning), Dr Garrick Small.
